Jennifer Shaw appeared on “The Afternoon News with Kitty O’Neal” to discuss a new law that requires covered California employers to take steps to prevent and respond to workplace violence. SB 553 adds Section 6401.9 to the California Labor Code which requires covered employers to adopt a comprehensive workplace violence prevention plan by July 1, 2024. Jennifer Shaw on “The Afternoon News with Kitty O’Neal” to Discuss the Taqueria Garabaldi Situation

Jennifer Shaw appeared on “The Afternoon News with Kitty O’Neal” to weigh in on the Department of Labor ruling.  The Taqueria was fined $140,000 for hiring a fake priest to hear confessions during work hours to extract what they called “sins.” That includes asking employees if they’d ever been late to work, stolen money or harbored “bad intentions” toward the company. Jennifer Shaw appeared on “The Afternoon News with Kitty O’Neal” to talk about new developments in the fight over California’s gig worker law. Voters approved a ballot measure in 2020, classifying Uber and Lyft drivers as independent contractors instead of employees.
