What’s New?

San Francisco Employers – Two Items

by D. Gregory Valenza | | April 5, 2019

If your business operates in San Francisco, you may wish to note these two upcoming obligations.

First, on July 1, 2019, the San Francisco minimum wage increases to $15.59 per hour.  Yes, you’ll need a new poster. And you can find that poster, along with other information about the San Francisco minimum wage, here

Second, a reminder that April 30, 2019 is the deadline for San Francisco employers to submit the annual report required by the City and County’s “Fair Chance Ordinance” and the “Health Care Security Ordinance.”

The Fair Chance Ordinance limits employers’ reliance on arrest and conviction records.  It applies to employers of 5 or more employees.  You can find information about that ordinance and a link to the report here.

The Healthcare Security Ordinance requires San Francisco employers of over 20 employees to spend a certain amount on health care insurance for employees, among other things.  You can find information about the HCSO, the poster, and the report that must be submitted here
