Kristopher Lopez’s practice involves conducting impartial school and workplace investigations, providing advice and counsel to employers, conducting workplace audits, and preparing and delivering engaging and interactive workplace training. Before becoming an attorney, Kris worked in the retail and hospitality industries, including supervising store employees and bar staff. Kris also is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran with experience overseeing a wide range of individuals and operations.

As an investigator, Kris has handled sensitive school and workplace complaints involving individuals at all levels of corporate and government organizations. He calls upon his unique and varied professional experiences to untangle intricate complaints, build rapport with employees to understand their concerns, and prepare clear and detailed investigation reports.

Kris also provides advice to employers on a range of employment law topics, including wage/hour, employee privacy, and EEO issues. Kris’ background in leadership, organizational behavior, and peer diversity education help him develop creative and efficient solutions to complex workplace challenges.

As a member of our audit team, Kris provides detailed analyses of wage-hour and other HR compliance issues.

Kris is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder. He also holds a certificate from ATIXA as a K-12 Civil Rights Investigator. He practices in both English and Spanish.

In his spare time, you will find Kris out in nature with his husband and dog, or meticulously planning his next Dungeons & Dragons session.
